About

I have been working as a Professor in the Department of Cooperation, the Gandhigram Rural Institute since 1996. I am handling classes on Theory of Cooperation, Cooperative Legal System and Banking, and Insurance Management at graduate, post graduate and research degrees level. I have undertaken research projects and consultancy projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, National Cooperative Development Corporation, New Delhi, and other agencies. I have published articles in reputed journals, written books, and contributed to chapters in edited volumes in the field of Cooperation, Rural Finance and Enterprise Development. I have organized more than one hundred training programmes for training the human resources in cooperatives and Government Officers on various contemporary issues on the development of cooperatives. I have gained field-level experiences in enterprise development, impact evaluation, and capacity building of members and employees of cooperatives and faculty members of Higher Education Institutions. Currently, my focus is on the governance system of grass root level cooperative institutions, Social Solidarity Economy and community outreach programmes of Higher Education Institutions in India. I am also serving as Regional Coordinator for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and UGC Regional Centre for CBPR under UBA for Southern Region
