Arshid Jehangir

About

Dr. Arshid Jehangir from Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal Srinagar of J&K did his Masters in 2002 and PhD in 2010 in Environmental Sciences from University of Kashmir. He is working as senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Kashmir. His thrust area of research includes Air, Water and Soil Pollution, Paleoclimatic studies, Solid Waste Management and Environmental Impact Assessment. Dr. Jehangir has published more than 50 research papers in various national and international journals. He has successfully executed 04 research projects and 09 consultancy projects as principal investigator. He has also been associated with development of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) of various development projects in the Mountain regions especially Hydropower, Drainage, Tourist Hill Stations, Area Development Projects, Roads and Industrial estates. He has organized various regional and national seminars related with different environmental issues in the Himalayan region. He is executive editor of UGC-CARE approved Journal of Himalayan Ecology and Sustainable Development. Besides he is actively involved in various environmental awareness, conservation and protection programs at state and national level.
