About
Harshal Y. Shahare is an overseas researcher at the Department of Human and Engineered Environmental Studies, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. He has been selected as the Invited Overseas Researcher (Fellowship Candidate) under India–Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science (JST LOTUS) Programme, administered by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). He is currently conducting research in Japan for a twelve-month period. He is a member of the deLOGIC Lab (http://delogic.iiitdmj.ac.in) and the Human & Environment Informatics Laboratory (https://www.lhei.k.u-tokyo.ac.jp). His primary research interests include CAx technologies (CAD/CAM/CAE), Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (including Hybrid, Dieless, and Additive Manufacturing), and Interpretable Digital Health.
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India, and received Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; specialization in CAD/CAM from the PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, India. He further advanced his research in Hybrid Manufacturing to earn his PhD from the same institute.
Harshal Y. Shahare has more than 6+ years of experience in engineering research. He has been actively working on novel metal forming techniques for 3+ years. He has worked in the field of ceramic additive manufacturing. He has worked on multiple international joint collaboration projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to pursue translational research in incremental sheet forming and hybrid manufacturing. He has recently begun focusing on human-centred wearable systems integrating multimodal sensing and interpretable AI for stress monitoring.
