About
I am currently working as an Assistant Director (Bioinformatician) at National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi, India. Actively working on various projects which include SARS-CoV-2 and Hepatitis genome sequencing data analysis under the tag of INSACOG and Minister of Health and Family Welfare. I have published papers in nature and science journals which include a total of 48 international publications. Previously completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. During my Post-Doctoral research, I have worked on various projects which include RNA-Seq data analysis on p50 knock-out mice, designing synthetic proteins from non-coding regions, and virtual RBC cells & MD simulations of proteins.
My Ph.D. research projects largely focused on the Bioinformatics analysis of PKM2 protein and microRNAs in humans. I have been part of conceptualizing several projects and contributed to 48 peer-reviewed scientific publications in good journals with an H-index of 22 and more than 2000 citations. This includes 7 first-author research articles focusing on SARS-CoV-2, PKM2, microRNA, apoptosis, and systems biology. After my Ph.D., I have had excellent opportunities to teach Bioinformatics for Master studies at Central University (JMI, Delhi) for a year. Apart from the research and teaching activities, I was also maintaining the Computational facilities at NCAHG, SLS and Synthetic Biology Lab, SBT, JNU. My strength in Systems Biology was proven by winning the third prize in the Cytoscape competition at UCSD, USA, and the Best Young Scientist award at Indian Network for Soil Contamination Research (INSCR).
I have explored the SARS-CoV-2 genome by analyzing more than 35,000 NGS data. Furthermore, I have carried out NGS data analysis for the first delta variant genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2 which led to the first author publication in a highly reputed journal science and co-authored in journals like nature.
I am adroit at problem-solving with diversified experience in Bioinformatics. I have vast experience in the area of microRNA, Cancer, Human Genetics, Molecular Biology, and metabolic diseases. As a Biologist, I can understand various scientific problems and actively collaborate. I have a good interactive approach and being hardworking and have a strong aptitude for research.
