Dr. Sushil Kumar works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Studies, Siksha-Bhavana (Institute of Science), Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India. He has received an M.Sc. degree in Environmental Science from the Department of Environmental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy from the School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. His doctoral and post-doctoral research covered the environmental chemistry of atmospheric particles. Before this research, he also gained research experience in the association of Persistent Organic pollutants (POPs) and Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) with Diabetes in the Indo-US project. His area of research includes environmental chemistry of soil, sediments, soil organic carbon (SOC), and atmospheric chemistry. He has published research articles and book chapters in international repute journals.
