Sanjoy Datta

About

I have a career spanning over 14 years, dedicated to administration, academics, research, and extension. I served as a Veterinary Officer in the Department of ARD, Government of West Bengal, for several years. Since 2016, I have been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of AGB, WBUAFS, Kolkata.
I began my professional education (B.V.Sc & A.H.) in 2003 at WBUAFS and completed my M.V.Sc in Animal Genetics & Breeding from ICAR-NDRI, Karnal, in 2010, where I worked on the Bubaline Leptin gene. I was honored with the B N Gupta Memorial Award for excellence in the field of Animal Production in 2010. I have completed my Ph.D. in Animal Genetics & Breeding from WBUAFS in the year 2023 and worked on survival of Black Bengal goats in West Bengal.
I actively contribute to the development of UG and PG teaching, research and extension activities. My research has led to more than 25 publications in journals of international and national repute, along with bulletins, scientific reviews, and conference proceedings. I have attended and presented research papers at various national and international conferences.
I am a life member of several national professional societies and have served as Co-PI for various research projects. I am also a member of the Editorial Board of several international and national journals. Additionally, I set question papers for UG and PG examinations at various colleges, universities, and important competitive exams. I frequently provide consultation to masters and doctoral students on research design and data analysis.
