About
Tomas Duminis, PhD is a materials and biomaterials scientist with expertise in dental biomaterials, bioactive glasses, and natural polymer–based scaffolds for biomedical applications. He obtained his PhD in Dental Biomaterials from Queen Mary University of London, where his research focused on the development and characterisation of fluorapatite glass-ceramics for restorative dentistry.
His research and consultancy work spans bioactive glass chemistry, glass-ionomer cements, biopolymers, and the mechanical and structural characterisation of biomaterials for medical, dental, and engineering applications. He has extensive experience with advanced analytical and characterisation techniques, including solid-state NMR, XRD, SEM/TEM, FTIR, nanoindentation, and mechanical testing.
Dr Duminis has held postdoctoral and research assistant positions in the UK and Poland and has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the fields of biomaterials and materials science. He is the Director of Scientia Inventum Limited, a consultancy providing scientific and technical expertise in materials and biomaterials research and development.
