About

I'm a trained Nutritionist currently pursuing doctoral research at the Department of Endocrinology, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, India. I apply Biochemistry and Molecular Biology techniques to decipher the biological effects of D vitamers in classical and non-classical target tissues using animal models. Our work is funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. With huge policy implications, the work will guide Vitamin D fortification programs in India.

I try to involve myself particularly in translational research with public health applications (from Lab to People). I have managed to get fellowship and scholarship from UGC and DST for higher education and research. I also have independent collaborations with a number of research groups. Out of them the most notable one is the DHANI Trial of Public Health Foundation of India, funded by DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance, where I analyzed primary data related to diet and nutrition from a Maternal-Child Birth Cohort in Belagavi, Karnataka.
