About
I am a doctoral researcher in Biological Anthropology at the Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta, and a Project Fellow at the Indian Statistical Institute, India. My research work focuses on molecular anthropology, human genetics, socio-genomics, and mathematical biology, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary, data-driven approaches to human variation and health. My ongoing PhD examines socio-genomic links between skin pigmentation and vitamin D status among diverse Eastern Indian populations, complemented by peer-reviewed publications on melanin–vitamin D evolution, oral health and vitamin D, skin colour variation, cutaneous microbiome, and forensic implications of anthropometry.
