About
Aveek Ghosh is currently working as Assistant Professor at Nitte Institute of Architecture, Nitte (DU) at Mangalore, India. He has a background in architecture with a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Architecture with a sound knowledge of green building principles, passive design techniques at building and city level in planning sustainable and livable cities. He is an early career researcher with a strong research base in urban climatology, bio-meteorology and heat-health aspects in built environment.
His doctoral research work is at the intersection of urban planning, climatology, and geography which demonstrated a holistic approach to understanding and mitigating the impacts of rising temperatures in urban environments. He has a strong knowledge of interpreting cityscapes through remote sensing applications and geographic information systems. He has multiple research publications in the field of urban heat stress, outdoor thermal comfort, city planning interventions and policies for extreme heat, heat action planning in cities and application of spatial frameworks to address the complex issues of urban climatology. He has presented award-winning research papers at prestigious international and national conferences and has a deep passion for interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
