Dr. Avinash M. Pawar is a distinguished academician and researcher in Mechanical Engineering with over 24 years of teaching experience. He currently serves as Vice Principal and Head of the Department at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering for Women, Pune. A committed educator and administrator, Dr. Pawar has played a pivotal role in curriculum development, academic governance, and institutional growth.

He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth University and is a recognized Ph.D. Research Guide at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). His academic journey includes a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, both earned with First Class distinction.

Dr. Pawar has made significant contributions to engineering education, particularly in the areas of Engineering Graphics, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, and Electrochemical Machining (ECM). He has authored three textbooks adopted by SPPU and has conducted numerous workshops and faculty development programs, including those aligned with NEP 2020.

His research portfolio includes 40+ peer-reviewed publications, many indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and three patents in ECM tool design. He has also served as a reviewer and editorial board member for several reputed international journals and conferences, including IEEE-sponsored events.

Dr. Pawar is actively involved in university-level academic roles, such as paper setting, syllabus revision, and examination coordination. He has chaired multiple committees and contributed to national-level initiatives like AICTE’s Student Learning Assessment Program.

Beyond academics, he is deeply engaged in social outreach, participating in NSS activities, environmental initiatives, and youth development programs. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing engineering colleges at Kolhapur and Lavale under the Bharati Vidyapeeth umbrella.

Dr. Pawar’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and holistic education continues to inspire students and peers alike, making him a respected figure in the Indian engineering education landscape.
