About
Shahzad Ahmed obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Physics from Ramjas College, University of Delhi, followed by an M.Sc. in Physics from the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi. He then earned his M.Tech. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, India. He has also served as a visiting scholar at the Institute for Lasers, Photonics, and Biophotonics, The State University of New York at Buffalo, USA. To date, he has authored and co-authored 42 publications in reputed international journals, including research articles, review articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings, which have collectively garnered over 1100 citations according to Google Scholar. He also actively serves as a reviewer for more than 20 international journals. His research centers on the development of advanced electrochemical biosensors and bioelectronic tongues for detecting flavors, taste sensations, and biohazardous analytes in food products, as well as for human health monitoring. His work emphasizes the design of innovative sensing platforms based on inorganic and organic polymer hybrids, particularly borophene oxide and other nanomaterials. Recently, he was honored with the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2nd International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering, held at the Millennium Hotel Paris Charles De Gaulle, Paris, France, on October 06–07, 2025, in recognition of his outstanding research contributions.
