About
Mr. Muthukumar V R was born in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, India on January 28, 1993. He completed schooling from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. He graduated his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2014 at the Anna University-affiliated CK College of Engineering and Technology in Cuddalore, and his Master of Technology in Nanoscience and Technology in 2017 at the Anna University-affiliated Alagappa College of Engineering (AC Tech Campus) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
After his M.Tech, he joined for a doctoral degree in Nanotechnology from Oct 2017 onwards, under the supervision of Dr. K. Ananthanarayanan, Research Associate Professor, Organic and Perovskite Photovoltaics Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, India.
During his doctoral program, he published five full-length articles in peer-reviewed international journals, presented his research work at national and international conferences, and attended three workshops. He has five years of research experience in photovoltaics, focusing on charge selective layers and perovskite interface optimization in perovskite solar cells by defect passivation strategies. He has in-depth knowledge in device fabrication and interface engineering of different interfaces in perovskite solar cells and organic solar cells. He is very well versed in the lab establishment, device fabrication in all types of perovskite solar cells architecture. He is also well trained and has over five years of experience in handling sophisticated equipment’s like glove box (8 port), physical vapour deposition, solar simulator, optical profiler, UV-Vis spectroscopy, steady state PL and Lifetime analysis and Scanning Kelvin probe with surface photovoltage module. He can independently analyze and validate all the thin film and solar cell device measurements data such as photovoltaic data, Quantum efficiency, XPS peak fittings, trap density calculation from SCLC, diode ideality factor from Light dependent Voc measurements, etc.
From April 2021 onwards, he was awarded as CSIR Senior Research Fellow (Direct) in transdisciplinary category for the project proposal titled “A Novel Inorganic Charge Selective Layers for Perovskite Based Tandem Solar Cells: Development, Interface and Stability Studies”.
