About
Dr Sreedeep Krishnan is an accomplished Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology. With nearly seventeen years of combined experience as a Project Engineer and academician, he possesses strong expertise in industrial automation, robotics, and their applications in agriculture.
He began his technical education in 2000 with a Diploma in Applied Electronics, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University in 2007. He completed his Master’s degree in Power Electronics and Drives from Anna University in 2011. Dr Krishnan was awarded his PhD in Field Robotics for Agriculture in February 2026 from Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Tamil Nadu.
Dr Krishnan is an active researcher with numerous publications in reputed international journals and conferences. His research interests include power electronics, industrial automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence–driven solutions for agricultural applications. His current research focuses on collaborative robots, vision-based systems for agriculture, and machine learning techniques for autonomous field robots.
In his academic career, he has successfully guided more than 25 undergraduate and postgraduate projects. He has also demonstrated strong leadership and organisational capabilities by coordinating national-level conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), and technical workshops. He is deeply committed to strengthening academia–industry collaboration through applied research and project-based learning.
Dr Sreedeep Krishnan is a professional member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), the Robotics Society of India (TRS), the Instrumentation Society of India (ISOI), and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
