About

I have completed a Ph.D. from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India and have been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Mumbai (since 2014).

With expertise in molecular spectroscopy and advanced instrumental techniques in chemical analysis, I have made significant contributions toward developing laser-enabled mass spectrometers for detecting compounds at attomolar levels. Furthermore, I am closely involved in developing biomarker detection technologies that can be deployed at point-of-care setups.

In addition, I am actively involved in R&D in the field of quantum chemistry, and theoretical and computation chemistry. This includes transition state modeling of chiral catalyzed reactions, reaction dynamics of systems under the influence of thermal and optical fields, and molecular modeling of biologically relevant compounds.

I was awarded a Junior and Senior fellowship from the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and a Gold medal from the University of Mumbai. I have also been awarded the prestigious 'Young Scientist Fellowship' by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India.

Till date, our research group has published 35+ research papers in scientific journals of international repute and two students have completed Ph.D. under my guidance.
