Dr. Vishakha Kawathekar heads the Department of Conservation, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal. Author of the book “Legal frameworks for built heritage in India”, she is engaged in research on perception, interpretation and memory of heritage. She actively engages in training professionals and the capacity building of administrators towards the protection of heritage.
Qualified as a conservation architect, she has a wide range of experience in national and international projects. Worked as a conservation consultant for Archeological Survey of India, she has taught in various graduate and post-graduate programmes in Architecture and Conservation in India.
