About
Results-oriented Microbiologist and Assistant Professor with 9+ years of R&D experience specializing in plant-microbe interactions, bioactive metabolite discovery, and applied fermentation technology. With a PhD from Thapar University (collaborative from NIPER Mohali) and Postdoctoral research at the Volcani Centre, Israel, I have led high-impact projects in drought-stress amelioration and sustainable agriculture. I have authored 53 SCI-indexed publications (Impact Factor > 205) and edited 15 books, demonstrating a sustained record of research excellence and international collaboration. My technical expertise includes strain engineering, multi-omics integration (transcriptomics/metabolomics), and scale-up using Sartorius fermenters and analytical tools like HPLC and GC-MS. I hold 3 Indian patents and am dedicated to translating laboratory-scale microbial innovations into commercial solutions for the healthcare, food security, and industrial biotechnology sectors.
My research program focuses on the interface of microbial biotechnology, sustainable agriculture, and natural product pharmacology. I am dedicated to deciphering the molecular mechanisms of plant-microbe interactions to develop biological solutions for food security, specifically focusing on enhancing crop resilience to drought and salinity. Additionally, I specialize in the metabolic engineering of endophytic fungi to discover and scale the production of bioactive compounds targeting neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.
