About
My research area primarily focusses on processing of metallic materials through advanced manufacturing processes and exploring the process - structure - property correlation in materials. The part of research also spans around understanding the origin of surfaces and exploring the science of mechanochemical effect in manufacturing processes.
Processing - Additive manufacturing (DED, LPBF, WAAM), Machining and its advancements for sheet production, Severe Plastic Deformation, Heat-treatments
Characterization - Electron microscopy (SEM and its allied techniques such as EBSD, EDS, ECCI, FIB milling, in-situ testing) TEM (Imaging, composition estimation and DP acquisition), XRD and allied techniques (normal XRD, residual stress measurement, SAXS, Texture measurement), UTM for tensile test and fracture toughness test, Digital Image Correlation, Profilometer etc.
Materials - Duplex Stainless steels, Austenitic Stainless Steel, Ti, HEAs, Al alloys (AA5024, A356), Cu, Cu-Ni-Sn.
