About

Dr. Swagata Tripathy is a clinician and researcher. She currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. Dr. Tripathy is actively pursuing a PhD in Population Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests encompass essential emergency care, critical care, rehabilitation, global health, and implementation sciences. As the Principal Investigator of the AIIMS ICU Rehabilitation (AIR) project, she led a transformative four-year initiative that benefited over 400 chronically ill, bedridden patients and their families, introducing the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) model to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and communities . In addition to her clinical and research endeavors, she has contributed to various studies, including those on critical care registries in Asia and the impact of COVID-19 on intensive care unit services. She has also collaborated on projects assessing the quality of life and mental health of patients after intensive care and surgical treatment. She has been Vice President of Society of Neuro Critical Care, and is presently an Associate Editor for the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine.
