Dr. Rajendra R Sawant: (M, DOB, Feb. 19, 1968)
He has completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering in July 1988 from Govt. Engg. College, Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. He has completed both: MTech degree in Electrical Engineering (July 1996) and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (Feb. 2009), from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. In Dec. 2011, he was invited by the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA as a Research post-doctoral fellow in a University Teaching Position in the field of Power Electronics for two-years.

Dr. Sawant has published 38+ Research Papers till-date in National, International
Conferences and peer-reviewed International journals, in the field of Industrial and
Power Electronics. He has served as a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Industrial
Electronics, Industry Applications and Power Electronics. He was engaged in university level academic teaching on different teaching positions in the field of Electrical Engineering for the last 30 Years, with different universities like Amravati University, Mumbai University, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, and Gujrat Technological University. He has been engaged as a Power Electronics Consultant to various small and Medium scale companies in Mumbai and Pune region since 1998 and involved in the Design and development of different Industrial products in Industrial heating and Power Conditioning Applications.

Dr. Sawant has given voluntarily professional contributions: as IEEE Student Branch
counselor at RGIT Mumbai for almost 10 years. He is currently serving as a Chair of, Joint Chapter IEEE PELS-IES, IEEE Bombay Section

He is a co-founder and Director of Inventronics Pvt Ltd, working in the field of Industrial Electronics, and telecommunications at Mumbai.

He was a recipient of Lokmat Corporate Excellence Award, 2014, for his outstanding
contribution in the field of Higher Education in rural Maharashtra. He is also recipient of National Merit Scholarship until his graduation.

Dr. Sawant is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA, a lifetime member of Indian Society for
Technical Education (ISTE), India, and Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering (IETE), India.

He is working with Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Andheri, Mumbai, India
as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. He is
a faculty tech-mentor to Sardar Patel Technical Business Incubation (SPTBI),
funded and affiliated to DST, Govt of India. His current areas of research
interest are: Energy Storage, Power Quality Improvements, and fast battery
charging systems
