About
Dr. Malay Das did his Graduation and Post-Graduation studies in the Department of Botany, University of Kalyani in the years 1994 and 1999. He subsequently completed his Ph. D. studies from Bose Institute, Kolkata and was awarded the degree from Jadavpur University in 2005. He embarked his postdoctoral research training at the US-Environmental Protection Agency, Western Ecology Division, Oregon, USA (2005-2008). He then worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Biochemical Plant Pathology, Virginia Tech University, USA (2008-2009) followed by obtaining the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt fellowship at the Institute of Biochemical Plant Pathology, Helmholtz Zentrum, Munich, Germany. He then joined the Department of Biological Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata as an Assistant Professor (stage 1) in 2013, where he is currently working as an Assistant Professor (stage 3). He has been actively involved in research and teaching on diverse aspects of plant developmental biology, physiology, lingo-cellulose and stress biology. He has been serving as Associate Editors in many journals of International repute such as BMC Genomics, Frontiers in Plant Science and Advances in Bamboo Science. He is also an elected member of the Plant Tissue Culture Association of India (PTCA-I).
