About

Dr. Renu Agarwal is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Business Studies and has been the Vice Principal and Director of the SDNB Centre for Skill Development from June 2023 - March 2025. She previously held the positions of Dean of Management Studies (2022–2023), Dean of New Age Sciences (2017–2022), and Head of Department (2013–2022) at SDNB Vaishnav College for Women, Chromepet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. With a total of 17.5 years of teaching and research experience, including 12.5 years at SDNB, she has published over 50 research papers and articles in nationally and internationally reputed journals.

Dr. Agarwal has supervised 34 postgraduate research projects, including 14 projects funded by SDNB Vaishnav College and 2 funded by TANSCST. She holds two patents and serves as a member of the Board of Studies for undergraduate and postgraduate syllabus revision at the University of Madras (academic years 2021–2024) and TNPSC. She is an editorial board member for the book series *Futuristic Trends in Agriculture Engineering & Food Sciences*, published by Iterative International Publishers (IIP).

She has authored two books, *Entrepreneurship* and *An Overview of Biochemistry*, as well as a chapter titled “Food Security and Sustainable Development” in the ISBN-accredited book *Mixed Method: A More Panoramic View of Research Landscape* published by IIP. Dr. Agarwal is a lifetime member of the Indian Dietetics Association (IDA) and the Nutrition Society of India (NSI).

In addition to a distinguished academic and research career, she has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and received numerous awards and grants recognizing her exceptional performance. She also secured 5th place in the Tamil Nadu State Level Women’s Chess Tournament in 2015.
