About
I am a materials chemist and researcher currently working at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, with a strong interest in hybrid materials for energy storage and functional applications. I completed my Ph.D. in Solid State and Structural Chemistry at IISc, where my doctoral research focused on understanding the synthesis–structure–property relationships in graphene oxide–based hybrids, including carbonized silk-derived materials.
My research interests span nanocarbons, graphene-based hybrids, aqueous zinc-metal batteries, supercapacitors, thermoelectric materials, dielectric properties, and solid-state impedance analysis. I have hands-on experience with a wide range of synthesis techniques—including chemical vapor deposition, hydrothermal synthesis, arc discharge methods, and combustion synthesis—as well as extensive expertise in structural, spectroscopic, and electrochemical characterization.
I enjoy working at the interface of fundamental materials chemistry and applied energy research, and I am particularly motivated by collaborative, interdisciplinary research environments. Alongside research, I value clear scientific communication, technical writing, and mentorship, and I actively engage in collaborative problem-solving both within and beyond the laboratory.
