Sara Fernandes

About

I am a chemist with a solid background in research in the fields of organic synthesis, functionalization, purification and characterization of functional compounds and polymers, and functionalization of surfaces, with strong emphasis on bio-based materials, sustainability and circular economy. Within these topics I have published >10 papers in international journals, >10 conference papers, >10 communications in national and international conferences, 3 book chapters, and have (co-)supervised 3 M.Sc. dissertations. During my professional path I have also become experienced on the technical coordination and management of R&D projects, the preparation of funding applications for national and European projects, and the day-to-day management of chemistry labs.
I consider myself a goal-oriented person with an interest in innovation and technology transfer, turning good ideas into reality.
