About
I am a researcher and educator in materials chemistry, with 6+ years experience. Currently I am working as a Postdoctoral Researcher (NSF-PREM) and Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at North Carolina Central University, USA. I received my Ph.D. in Science from the Materials Research Centre, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (2019), where my doctoral research focused on the synthesis and development of multifunctional carbonaceous nanostructures for magnetic, optical, and catalytic applications.
My research interests include carbon nanomaterials, 2D transition metal dichalcogenides, electrode materials for Li/Na-ion batteries, metal–air batteries, electrocatalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, photodetection, and electrochemical/gas sensing. Previously, I held research positions at the University of Ulsan (Republic of Korea), CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute (India), and the Indian Institute of Science.
I have authored more than 94 peer-reviewed journal articles, contributed two book chapters, and filed two international patents. My publications have received over 3,600 citations (h-index: 39, i10-index: 68). I have given invited talks and presentations at international conferences such as MRS, E-MRS, ICMAT, and KCS. I also serve as an Associate Editor in Frontiers in Carbon, and Editorial Board member for Microwave (MDPI). I have peer-reviewed more than 182 research articles for leading journals in chemistry, materials, and energy research.
Currently, my research is focused on designing advanced nanostructured materials for energy storage, electrocatalysis, microwave absorption, and sensing applications.
