He has been active on the academic circuit nationally and internationally with teaching and speaker assignments. He has published in national and international journals, is a guide and mentor to students from all over the country in rheumatology, and has been associated with the prestigious annual scholars’ meets for the past 7 years. He has also organized national meets for the rheumatology fraternity and boasts excellent camaraderie with the junior and senior faculty from all over the country. He is also an honorary reviewer for Lancet-South Asia, BMJ Open, Cureus, etc. His current interests include Immunogenetics of Rheumatic diseases and Spondyloarthritides. The Immunogenetics studies are the first of their kind from India, and explore the genotype-phenotype relation of psoriatic arthritis (see publications). He is also spearheading an immunogenetic study, of a unique form of Inflammation arthritis with contrasting etiology (see publications). The impact of these recent studies is a revisiting of the pathogenesis of PsA and the likelihood of considering the “OVERLAP MSK disorder” as a disease subset, akin to MCTD. The other major project is regarding the possible extension of the SpA spectrum to include DISH.
