About

Dr. Haroon Rasheed is working as Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department in Bahria University Karachi Pakistan. He completed his B.E. (Electronics) and M.E. (Electrical) from NED University of Engineering and Technology. He then received his M.S and PhD in Telecommunications from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Dr. Rasheed has been working as a research associate in global center of excellence (GCOE) program at Tohoku University Sendai, Japan and CWC Oulu, Finland. He is the author of several research publications in the refereed journals and IEEE International Conferences. His research interests includes Broadband Wireless Communications including Spectrum Sensing and Access Techniques, Network Coding, Channel Fading, Cognitive Radio and Cooperative Networks, Game Theory and Optimization in Communications, Ultra Wide Band and Femto Cell Applications, Advanced Signal Processing Techniques.
Dr. Rasheed is the Editor-in-Chief to Bahria University Journal of Information and Computing Technologies (BUJICT), Editor Universal Journal of Communications and Networks by Horizon Publications USA, Technical Reviewer of Wireless Personal Communication Journal. He is also a member of IEEE Executive Committee Member Karachi Chapter. He served as a program chair for 17th IEEE International Multi-Topic Conference (INMIC) 2014. He is also Program Committee Member of FIT 2013 and 14 Conference, China Com and NCMCS Conference 2015. He has supervised several Research Thesis of MS and PhD Students and HEC approved PhD Supervisor. He is the recipient of research grant from ICT R&D for his Project “Energy Detector for Spectrum Sensing” in the year 2012.
