Dr. Ankita Wal is a Professor and Head of the Department at Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (Pharmacy), Kanpur, India, with over 17 years of experience in pharmaceutical sciences, academic leadership, and translational research.

Her research expertise lies in natural product-based drug discovery, polyherbal formulations, network pharmacology, molecular docking, and translational pharmacology, with a particular focus on metabolic and neuropharmacological disorders such as diabetes and associated complications. She has made significant contributions to the development and evaluation of phytopharmaceuticals and evidence-based herbal therapeutics.

Dr. Wal has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, with over 1600 citations (Google Scholar) and an h-index of 21, reflecting strong research impact. Her work is indexed in major international databases including Scopus and Web of Science. In addition, she has contributed extensively to scientific literature through books and book chapters published by Elsevier, CRC Press, Bentham Science, and Springer Nature.

She holds multiple patents (Indian and international), several of which have been successfully commercialized and transferred to industry partners, including Hemp Street Private Limited and Plus Formulations. Her research has led to the development of innovative herbal formulations with real-world applications.

Dr. Wal has secured research funding from government and industry agencies, including UPCST ,ICMR,DST and private sector collaborations, and has been actively involved in interdisciplinary projects integrating network pharmacology and computational drug design approaches.

In addition to her research contributions, she is actively engaged in academic leadership, mentoring, and capacity building, having supervised numerous postgraduate students and organized national conferences, workshops, and entrepreneurship development programs. She has also played a key role in promoting innovation and translational research through industry collaborations and product development initiatives.

Her work bridges the gap between traditional knowledge and modern pharmaceutical sciences, contributing to the advancement of sustainable, evidence-based therapeutic strategies.
