About
o Senior Research Fellow: (Sept. 2013-Feb.2016): At Division of Entomology ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. I was associated with Dr. V.V. Ramamurthy (Retd. Professor & Principal Scientist at Division of Entomology) and Dr. Kolla Sreedevi (Senior Scientist at Division of Entomology, IARI) worked on a research project AICOPTAX-Coleoptera funded by MoEF&CC. Here, I carried out taxonomic and molecular studies of weevil group of insects including DNA extraction, purification and amplification using mitochondrial COI gene primers, handled Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and other microscopes as well as laboratory equipments for taxonomic research. I also carried out surveys on insect biodiversity and classification of different families of insects order Coleoptera by using key characters, morphologically.
o Senior Research Fellow: (February 2016-September 2016): At Division of Plant Pathology ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. I was associated with Dr. Bikash Mondal (Principal Scientist at Division of Plant Pathology & Virology, IARI) and worked on “Outreach Project on Sucking Pests” funded by ICAR. Here, I carried out molecular studies on plants pathogens and sucking pest which effect different crops including DNA extraction, purification, amplification with different PCR primers, cloning of DNA fragment, rolling circle amplification for extraction of whole circular genome of whitefly and plants, tissue culture using whitefly eggs etc.
o Senior Research Fellow: (October 2016-December 2019.): At Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. I am associated with Dr. Renu Pandey (Principal Scientist at Division of Plant Physiology, IARI) and Dr. Anju M. Singh (Principal Scientist at Division of Genetics, IARI) in the “Indo-UK Centre for the improvement of Nitrogen use Efficiency in Wheat (INEW)” project funded by Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT). I have been involved in the field management and data collection for sowing of 472 genotypes of both Indian and UK germplasm for Nutrient analysis and Phenotyping experiment. I am also associated with another project on MAS for end-use quality and involved in DNA extraction, purification and amplification with AS-PCR primers and also developing new wheat varieties by classical breeding methods and management.
o Senior Research Fellow: (February 2020-April 2021.): At Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. I am associated with Dr. Renu Pandey (Principal Scientist at Division of Plant Physiology, IARI) in the “Candidate gene association mapping for tolerance to iron toxicity and low phosphorus stress in rice” project funded by Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT)-NER. I have been involved in the field experiment of few varieties grown at 6 nitrogen levels and 3 different season for Nutrient analysis and Phenotyping experiment and also maintain the crossed population.
o Research Fellow II: (May 2021-continue.): At Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. I am associated with Dr. Renu Pandey (Principal Scientist at Division of Plant Physiology, IARI) in the UK funded project- “GCRF South Asian Nitrogen Hub” project funded by United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI). I have been involved in the field experiment of 25 varieties grown at 6 nitrogen levels and 3 different season for Nutrient analysis and Phenotyping experiment and QTL mapping. I work on the nutrient profiling of plants using the technique ICP-OES and CHNS analyser. I was an expert in ICP in running and do the analysis of 29 elements in a single while using 6 different sets of standards.
o Work as a Visiting Scientist/Worker (June 2017-October 2017) under the Project INEW 4 month’s duration on Gene expression study using novel zip genes (Zinc transporter) in Plant and Crop Science Rothamsted, Harpenden, UK, under Dr. Peter Shewry (Coordinator Project INEW) and Dr. Malcolm J Hawkesford (Head Department of Plant Sciences, Rothamsted).
