About
Dr. Kuntal Maji is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Production and Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India since Sept. 2022. He completed his B.E.(Hons.) in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2005, and, M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, in the years 2009 and 2014, respectively.
Before joining NIT Jamshedpur, he has served as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department of MNIT Jaipur (2015) and NIT Patna (2015-2022). He had also worked in industry as GET and Executive Engineer in the L.J. Machinery & Co. Ltd., Kolkata (2005-2006) in Machine and Assembly shop of Production Division.
His major area of research interest includes sheet metal forming, metal additive manufacturing, process modeling and optimization in manufacturing using finite element analysis and machine learning techniques, computational materials processing. Dr. Maji has completed one SERB sponsored project funded by Govt. of India as the Principal Investigator (2017-2020). He has guided two Ph.D. theses and Eight Master's theses. He has published twenty papers in various international journals, twenty one papers in conference proceedings or other journals, and four book chapters.
