About

Dr. Manish Tiwari is Ph.D. in Sociology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Varanasi, India and he has completed his Post-Graduation in Sociology as well as Business Management. His research interests include Joint Forest Management and Rural Development, Sustainable Farm Development & Peasant Studies, Gender & Inclusive Development Studies, Sociology of Development, Primitive, Ethnic and Cultural Studies, Research Methodology, Sociology of Science, Society and Ethical Values.
He is formally a graduate in Commerce and additionally achieved a Bachelor degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from B.H.U., Varanasi. His teaching experience spans for over 15 years after his Ph.D. degree which includes his earlier rendered services at Arya Mahila Post Graduate College, B.H.U. (Varanasi, U.P.) and Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, U.P. He has taught the regular under-graduate & post-graduate courses of Sociology during his college service and its applied section (as an additional assignment) to the students of IIT BHU, School of Law, BHU, and M.A. in Social Work as well as P.G. Diploma students of Centre for Women and Development Studies, FSS, BHU, and IGNOU Study Centre at Varanasi Central Jail, etc.
He is currently serving a Faculty Member in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), National Institute of Technology Patna (NITP) and regularly teaching under- graduate level B. Tech. students and research scholars (for Course Work). He has supervised NINE research scholars till date and few more are continuing their research work under his supervision. He has written a few articles in the leading daily newspapers. He has published more than 60 articles both including national and international journals (SCOPUS/ Web of Science/ UGC care listed) and reviewed 11 research articles for Web of Science database listed journal. He has also got two of his reference book published and several book chapters published in hand as conference proceedings. He has presented papers in various national/ international seminars, conferences, and workshops. He has organized and convened several conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. and has been a resource person at different academic conferences and other academic programs.
He has also served the NIT Patna administration in different capacity as required. He has also served to the ECI as a PCCP Magistrate/ Micro Observer/ Presiding Officer for Bihar State Assembly Election/ Panchayat Election/ Lok Sabha Election. Simultaneously, he has performed his role of Observer in various entrance examinations, OSD & Academic Facilitator to NIOS, Regional Centre, Patna, Bihar. He has completed the various assignments of question paper setting at UG program and PG program of Sociology and also set up the entrance question paper of Ph.D. research work admission. He is also rendering his services as Member, Board of Studies at Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College, Patna University & NIT Patna and Social Scientist as a Member, Ethical Committee at NIT Patna.
He has been a member of selection committee of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Siksha Sewa Chayan Board, Allahabad, U.P. (UPMSSCB) and Bihar Police Subordinate Selection Commission, Patna, Bihar (BPSSC). He was an Institute trainer of the 66th BPSC recruited Probationer Jail Superintendent & Probationary Officer at Bihar Institute of Correctional Administration (BICA), Hajipur, Vaishali, Bihar. He is a Lifetime & active Member of Indian Sociological Society as well as Bihar Sociological Society and Mahamana Malviya Mission Bihar Unit.
