Dr. Santosh Kumar Vipparthi is a distinguished academic and researcher with over 13 years of experience in the field. He is currently the Head and Associate Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering (sAIDE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, India. Before joining IIT Ropar, Dr. Vipparthi brought his expertise to the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) in the School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as to MNIT in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Vipparthi's research focuses on key visual perception tasks, including object detection, human emotion recognition, aberrant event detection, underwater exploration, image retrieval, gesture recognition, motion analysis, and more. His work has garnered recognition through numerous publications in prestigious journals such as IEEE-NNLS, IEEE-TIP, IEEE-ITS, IEEE-MM, IEEE-CDS, IEEE-AI, IEEE-SPL, IEEE-GSRSL, IET-IP, IET-CV, among others. He has also presented over 30 papers at international conferences, including ACMMM, CVPRw, WACV, IJCNN, ICIP, SMC, AINA, ICPR, ICVGIP, CVIP, and more.

As an active member of the academic community, Dr. Vipparthi serves on technical committees for prominent conferences like ICCV, CVPR, AAAI, WACV, ICIP, SMC, CVIP, and others. Additionally, he has contributed his expertise as a peer reviewer for many reputed journals, helping to maintain the quality and integrity of research in the field of computer vision.
