Dr. Vijay Pratap Singh did his B.Sc. (Biology) from M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, India. He did his M.Sc. (Botany) and D.Phil. with specialization in plant physiology and biochemistry from University of Allahabad, India. Dr. Singh worked as assistant professor in botany in Govt. Ramanuj Pratap Singhdev Post Graduate College, Baikunthpur, Koriya, Chhattisgarh, India from 2012 to 2018. After this, he joined his present institution as assistant professor in botany. Dr. Singh has authored 139 original research/reviews/editorials in journals of international repute and 8 book chapters. He has edited about 14 books with Academic Press (Elsevier), Wiley, CRC Press, Springer, Nova Science Publishers, Studium Press, etc. Research projects of various funding agencies (DBT, SERB and UGC) of government of India are ongoing/completed under his supervision. Dr. Singh has edited/editing special issues with journals such as Journal of Experimental Botany, Frontiers in Plant Science, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Physiologia Plantarum, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Plant Cell Reports, etc. as a guest editor. He is serving as a regular editor for journals of international repute such as Acta Physiologiae Plantarum (Springer), Plant Growth Regulation (Springer), Journal of Plant Growth Regulation (Springer), Biologia Plantarum, Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology (Elsevier) and BMC Plant Biology. His research interest focuses on investigation of regulation of physiological, biochemical and molecular responses in crop plants under abiotic stresses such as heavy metal, nanoparticles, salinity, UV-B, etc. with an emphasis on reactive oxygen species, nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide and phytohormone signaling. Clarivate Analytics has named Dr. Singh among top 1% world’s most Highly Cited Researcher for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023. Moreover, the Stanford University has also named Dr. Singh among top 2% world’s most Highly Cited Researcher for the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
