About
I am a scientist with a passion in the fields of Physical chemistry, biophysics, microfluidics and molecular biology. I have achieved both my bachelor and Master degree at the Wageningen university in the field of Molecular Life Sciences. I recently started as a PhD candidate at the Physical Chemistry and Soft Matter department of the Wageningen University.
I currently work on studying double bilayers, using different model membrane systems: A supported Double Lipid Bilayer (SDLB) and Attached Lipid Liposomes. I achieve the double bilayers through the use of various linker molecules, like Biotin and Streptavidin or telechelic associative polymers.
The combination of both model membrane systems allows me to assess the stability of biomembranes using techniques like AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy), DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering), Reflectometry and TIRF microscopy (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence microscopy).
