About

As a highly motivated and dedicated taxonomist, I am passionate about unraveling the intricate biodiversity of (subterranean) life. I am an enthusiastic individual seeking the opportunity to employ innovative teaching methodologies and research techniques to enhance my academic pursuits and those of my students and contribute to expanding scientific knowledge through collaborating with diverse scientists from around the world.

The natural world is a veritable treasure trove of undiscovered species, each with unique adaptations and evolutionary insights. My research focuses on the subterranean biodiversity of India, with a particular focus on the biodiversity, taxonomy, and biogeography of understudied obligatory subterranean micro-crustacean groups. I am committed to expanding our understanding of this hidden diversity through rigorous field research and utilizing morphological and advanced molecular approaches to identify and describe new taxa.
My research has significantly advanced our knowledge of this diverse and often over-looked group of organisms by discovering and publishing 25 new taxa in professional periodicals. I employ molecular methods to further elucidate the Gondwana origin hypothesis and try to decipher the intricate biogeographic patterns of Indian subterranean fauna.

These isolated subterranean dwellers are living relics of ancient lineages, providing unique insights into Earth's tectonic history. I am passionate about continuing my research journey in this intriguing realm and trying to uncover the hidden biodiversity within subterranean depths. My work contributes to a better understanding the eco-evolutionary mechanisms that govern life in perpetual darkness beneath our feet.
