Dr. Kumar Chandan Srivastava is an academic clinician, researcher, and educator in Oral Medicine, Oral Oncology, Oral Pathology, and Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology with over 17 years of experience in clinical care, dental education, diagnostic sciences, healthcare leadership, and translational research. He currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Diagnostic Sciences at the College of Dentistry, Jouf University, Saudi Arabia, where he is actively involved in specialty clinical services, postgraduate education, research mentorship, and academic leadership.
Dr. Srivastava completed his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology and subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Oral Pathology with research focused on oral oncology, biomarkers, and oral potentially malignant disorders. He has further strengthened his academic and research expertise through postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Research, Biostatistics, Public Health, Hospital Administration, and the International Masters for Health Leadership (IMHL) program at McGill University, Canada.
His clinical interests include oral mucosal diseases, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral cancer, orofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, medically compromised patients, salivary gland disorders, and oral diagnostic sciences. He has extensive experience in interpretation of advanced imaging modalities including CBCT, CT, MRI, ultrasonography, panoramic radiography, and other oral and maxillofacial imaging techniques.
Dr. Srivastava has authored more than 136 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has established a strong international research profile in oral oncology, oral medicine, diagnostic sciences, evidence-based dentistry, healthcare innovation, and artificial intelligence applications in oral health. His scholarly work has received more than 2,250 citations with a Google Scholar h-index of 24 and a Scopus h-index of 19. He has served as principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple funded research projects and is the inventor/co-inventor of several national and international patents.
A passionate mentor and educator, Dr. Srivastava has supervised and mentored undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral researchers and has served as examiner and external examiner for master's and doctoral theses. He has delivered invited lectures, chaired scientific sessions, participated in international academic collaborations, and contributed extensively to research capacity building and evidence-based healthcare education.
Dr. Srivastava has held editorial and scholarly service roles with several international peer-reviewed journals, including assignments as Associate Editor, Academic Editor, Review Editor, Topic Editor, Special Issue Editor, and editorial board/advisory board member for journals and publishers such as Frontiers, Heliyon, BMC Oral Health, PLOS ONE, and the International Journal of Clinical Practice.
Dr. Srivastava is a Registered Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and a Registered Specialist in Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology with the Tamil Nadu Dental Council, India. He holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, along with memberships in specialty organizations related to oral medicine, oral radiology, orofacial pain, and dentomaxillofacial radiology. His current research interests focus on oral oncology, oral potentially malignant disorders, clinicopathologic correlation, diagnostic biomarkers, oral imaging, translational oral health research, and artificial intelligence in oral diagnostics.
