About
Dalgobind Mahto, a PhD from NIT Jamshedpur(an institution of national importance) , is a focused resourceful director, professor, competitive performer, researcher, mentor & overall a humanist with keen interest in education. His academic career reflects 25+ years of experience in industries, teaching, research and administrative accomplishments at institutions affiliated to Universities Councils & Boards. His directorial roles as an expert have involved significant innovation in curriculum development; student centered learning environment, faculty and staff development, research productivity, regional economic development, collaboration with different institutions over the past 14 years.
He, is, currently working as Director Jaipur Engineering College Jaipur. He is actively involved in curriculum innovation, developing new Institutions, internationalization, and advising dissertations of BTech and M. Tech students. Before joining this institute, he has served as a Director & Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering at JIET, Jaipur during Apr 2013 - Mar 2019. He has also served earlier as a Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering & Dean (R&D) GHEC, Solan, India during 2008-2013.
Prof. Mahto obtained his PhD in Engineering from Department of Production & Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur India in 2010. He has also received his MTech. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur, Department of Mechanical Engineering, in 2003. Besides PhD in Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur, he has undergone Post PhD Programs from IIT BHU, NIT Arunachal, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Tiruchirapalli, IIT Jammu, IITB, IITG, IIT Kgp, NITH, IITJ, IITK. He has carefully promoted outreach activities & mentoring faculties with their teaching, research, and worked on joint research projects, publications, conferences & workshops.
During his stint in industries he has undergone plenty of advanced STCs in Supervisory Development, Metrology & Engineering Inspection, Project Management, Supplier Quality Improvement, Excellence thro’ ISO / TS-16949:2002, Six Sigma and Lead Auditor from Foremen Training Institute Jamshedpur, Advanced Training Institute Mumbai, NITIE Mumbai, Tata Cummins Ltd Jamshedpur, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. USA, AMT Six Sigma Institute USA and TUV India Ltd & IRCA Jamshedpur respectively. He has more than 25+ years’ experience in different positions and gained a vast industrial, teaching and professional experience, in which, he has spent nearly 14 years on teaching and R&D assignments. He has published more than 50 papers in different Journals and Conferences. He has developed 19 Mechanical Engineering laboratory manuals for reference & use in laboratories. So far he has published 09 books on Engineering Metrology and Measurements, Essentials of Systematic Research, Maintenance Engineering & Management (Theory & Application) ISBN 978-93-81302-06-4, Discrete Mathematics and Logic Design ISBN 978-93-81302-00-2 , Flexible Manufacturing Systems (Theory and Application) ISBN 978-93-84666-50-7, Essentials of Estimation and Costing” and Essentials of Design of Jig and Fixture. His book on AI & ML is in pipeline for publication.
He is internationally known for his academic leadership and as a member of national and international professional bodies like SAISE, SCIEI, IAARC, MRSI, AMM, IAENG (Artificial Intelligence, Information System Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering), IIE, IE (I), IET, ISTE, IIPE, UAMAE and closely connected with various activities. He is nominated academic member of units of Industrial Engineering Research & Mechanical Engineering Research of ATINER, Geneva. He is the reviewer of IJPR, IJPQM, IJISE, IJMOM, JIEM, ARISER, IJME and GJRE. He is in the editorial board of some of the reputed journals like IJME, IJOART, IJAST, IJASE and EJISE.
He is on the various organizing committees of national and international bodies continuously. Some of the notable contributions are as conference organizing committee of 2nd ICIME 2011 & 3rd ICIME 2012. Similarly, he has also carried out responsibilities as organizing member in 11th ECRM, 3rd ICIE 2015 and ICIE 2016. He is instrumental for setting various centers for strengthening academia at JEC Group like NPTEL Online Courses, NME-ICT, IIRS-ISRO outreach program, NICEEE Centre and ICT Academy IIT Kanpur. He has organized conferences in varied topics like ICPAIR 2020, ICIEST 2019 and ICMDSM 2017.
His name figures in the 33rd, 34th 35th& 36th publication of “WHO IS WHO 2016, 2017, 2018& 2019” in the world with a VIP No: 37105833. To name a few his areas of research interest include Production & Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Productivity Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Optimization Techniques, Operations Management & Research, Maintenance Engineering & Management, AI, IoT, Automation and Materials Engineering.
