About
Dr. Megha Patil is a Senior Assistant Professor in the School of Mechatronics Engineering at Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU), Pune. With over 14 years of academic and research experience, she specializes in Mechatronics, IoT, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Electronics, and Cyber-Physical Systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, where her research focused on EEG-based stress and mental illness detection using advanced machine learning and deep learning models.
At SSPU, Dr. Patil serves in multiple leadership roles including IQAC Coordinator, Admission Coordinator for B.Tech Mechatronics Engineering, SPOC & Internal Board of Studies Member, and Website & Social Media Coordinator for the School of Mechatronics Engineering. She has contributed significantly to curriculum development, academic audits, and departmental branding. She also coordinates major courses across B.Tech, M.Tech, and Work-Integrated Learning Programs, and is actively involved in laboratory development and skill-based teaching using Lucas Nuelle Labs.
Dr. Patil has guided numerous B.Tech and M.Tech projects, mentored students for internships, national competitions, and innovation challenges, and has organized industrial visits, expert talks, FDPs, and international conferences. She has published extensively in Scopus-indexed journals, international conferences, and open-access platforms, and serves as a reviewer for several reputed journals including Elsevier and Hindawi.
Her research interests include biomedical signal processing (EEG, EMG), mental stress detection, machine learning, IoT communication performance, autonomous systems, and AI-powered mechatronics applications. She has multiple granted design and utility patents in healthcare, mobility assistance devices, embedded systems, and robotics, as well as several copyrights for innovative engineering systems.
Dr. Patil has been recognized with international awards such as the Best Researcher Award in Neurology and Neuro Disorders (San Francisco, USA, 2023). She actively contributes to national and international academic communities as a reviewer, session chair, and conference committee member.
