About
Subhamoy Mandal is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur and an associated researcher at the Technical University of Munich.
He received his PhD from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), MS (by research) from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal University, Karnataka, India. He undertook his postdoctoral training as a Research Scientist in Molecular Imaging at the Division of Medical Physics in Radiology, German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg. Later, he was a Clinical Application Engineer with Maxer Endoscopy ( Erbe Elecktromedizin Group) and supported the development of an Augmented Reality assisted navigation system for laparoscopic surgery together with researchers at TUM, and surgeons at the LMU University of Munich.
His areas of interest are Medical Signal & Image Processing, Medical Imaging and DSP/GPU based algorithm design. He is a recipient of the prestigious DAAD PhD Scholarships, UK Commonwealth Fellowship, IEEE Student Enterprise Award, IEEE CS Richard E. Merwin Scholarships, and IEEE ES Student Leadership Award.
