About
Dr. Fouran Singh is currently working as Group In-charge of the "structure & Spectroscopy" in the "Materials Science Group" at Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi. He is being involved in multi-mode research in various fields of Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science/Nanotechnology such as Photoluminescence, thermoluminescence, ionoluminacence, IR/Raman, wide band gap materials for optoelectronics/ photovoltaics, phase transition of materials, plasmonics, nanocomposites, nano-hybrids, quantum materials and defects in materials. He has played key role in implementing various structural and spectroscopic facilities including some in beamline of 15UD Tandel Pelletron Accelerator such ion beam induced luminescence, in-situ X-ray diffraction and in-situ micro-Raman facilities. Ion-matter interaction is also one of key research objective for understanding the materials modifications under energetic ion irradiation. He has supervised/mentored several doctoral and post-doctoral fellows. He has also handled several projects from external funding agencies as PI/co-PI and scientifically/technically supported a large number of PhD scholars from other institutions of the country.
