About

Dr. Raju Attada is a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISERM), where he has served since 2019. He received his Master’s degree in Meteorology from Andhra University in 2008 and completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, focusing on the impact of data assimilation on the prediction of Indian Summer Monsoon rainfall.
His research mainly addresses extreme weather events, high-resolution prediction of monsoon extremes using numerical models and AI/ML, and weather–climate extremes over the Indian Himalayas. His group works on advancing modeling techniques and developing high-resolution early warning systems for mountain regions. Dr. Attada has published nearly 80 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial boards of Scientific Reports, Discover Atmosphere, and Journal of Hydrology. He is also an active member of several leading meteorological and geoscience societies worldwide.
