Shyam Chandra Ghosh has graduated B.Sc. Agriculture (1st Class, Gold Medal) from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar (U.K), M.Sc. (Agri.) in Genetics and Plant Breeding (1st Class) from I.G.K.V, Raipur (C.G.), presently pursuing Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from RKMVERI, Kolkata, West Bengal.
I have Completed the programs like Diploma in Technology Management in Agriculture (DTMA) from NAARM & University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Diploma in office Management(DOM), from CIIT, Guwahati.
I have awarded several certification courses from institutes of national importance and repute i.e. Data Science and Machine Learning from IIMR, Raipur (C.G.), Certificate in Bioinformatics from IIT, Bhubaneswar, Computer Science and Biology from NIT Arunachal Pradesh, Technology Management from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior under ATAL Academy, Digital Tools for Writing, Authoring and Reviewing Manuscripts from E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, Research Methodology: Tools and Techniques from SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat.
I belong to a farming family from a village in Bousha, Uttar Dinajpur District, West Bengal.
I have worked with MNC’s like Bayer CropScience Ltd. & UPL Limited in Research and Development especially for Product Development and Hybrid Rice Development in East and North-Eastern India and during my tenure and identified rice hybrids notified and included in the package and practice for the cultivation, Arize 6444Gold, 6129Gold and TejGold in Assam and Arize 6444Gold in Meghalaya.
I am associated with several societies i.e. Association of Rice Research Worker (ARRW), Cuttack, Odisha, Scholars Academic and Scientific Society, Hojai, Assam, Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding (ISGPB), New Delhi, Indian Society of Plant Breeder (ISPB), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
I have published and presented several scientific articles in different journals and conferences, and book chapters of national and international repute in the field of Rice Breeding, Ethno medicine, and Rural Technology.
I have major area of expertise is rice breeding using quantitative genetic and molecular tools and techniques.
I am associated with organic farming and conservation of indigenous culture and practice with different local societies in West Bengal and others states in India for the better society with good health and humanity.
