About
My research interests lie in exploring galaxy dynamics, morphology and analysis data from galaxy surveys in order to understand the large-scale structure of the universe.
I have worked on understanding the vertical distribution of stars in disk galaxies using semi-analytical modeling approach. We have theoretically modeled the role of gas & dark matter halo gravity in determining the distribution of stars in the inner & the outer galaxy ; flaring in stellar disk , effect on the Oort limit due to a non-isothermal vertical velocity dispersion of stars etc. I have explored the morphology of massive disk galaxies with extended low surface brightness stellar disk similar to giant LSB galaxies using cosmological hydrodynamical simulations data. Currently, I am also working on spectroscopic observations of galaxy surveys in the context of large scale structure of the universe.
