About
Prof. (Dr.) Anirban Chakraborti is currently a Professor at the School of Computational and Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
Dr. Chakraborti holds a Ph. D. in Physics from Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (Jadavpur University), India, and has done the Habilitation (HDR) in Physics from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France.
Having been awarded the prestigious Young Scientist Medal of the Indian National Science Academy in 2009, his pioneering research works have been published as books, edited volumes, and research articles in journals of high international repute, creating wide impact across various fields. He was elected as the Fellow, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) with effect from January, 2023.
He has done his graduation and post-graduation from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta, India, and the University College of Science, University of Calcutta, India, respectively.
Prior to this, he was working as the Dean, Research and Development, as well as the Dean, School of Engineering and Technology at BML Munjal University, Gurugram, India. He was also the former Registrar at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Earlier he worked as a Chercheur Senior (Associate Professor) at École Centrale Paris, France (2009-2014), and as a Lecturer at Banaras Hindu University, India (2005-2008). He has completed post-doctoral tenures at Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA (2003-2005), and Aalto University, Finland (2002-2003).
