About

Let me introduce myself. My name is Anup Kumar Thander. I am from Tamluk, Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. I was born on January 01, 1985. I grow up in the backdrop of village-life and completed my schooling from Tamluk Hamilton High School. After school I took admission in Uluberia College, one of the best college under Calcutta University. After completing graduation, I took admission in IIT Guwahati for post graduation in Mathematics and Computing. I completed my Ph.D. from MAKAUT West Bengal on August 2019. Presently I am working as Assistant Professor (Mathematics) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Kolkata.

My hobbies are reading specially news papers. In my next life, if any, I want to be again a teacher. I have introduced with so many beautiful people in my life only because of this profession. In my class, students can learn from one whereas I can learn from hundreds. I love kids and I know how to handle them. Their innocence attracts me so much. My professional life gives me exposer, confidence and sense of achievement.

My research interest is in the field of Computational Electromagnetics. I use Computational methods for optical modal analysis in different types of waveguide structures and in material systems.

I have 15 international research publications( 3 in SCI Journals, 7 in Scopus indexed journals). Total 13 research publications are Scopus indexed. Most of the research articles are published by publishers like Elsevier, Springer, IEEE.

I have completed more than 17 FDP/QIP/Short term courses from IITs/ IISc Bangalore ( IIT Kharagpur (4), IIT Kanpur(3), IIT Guwahati(1), IIT Madras (3) , IIT Roorkee (2), IISc Bangalore (1), IIT Bombay (1), IIT Indore (2)).

Also I worked as Teaching Assistant for NPTEL course on Computational Electromagnetics and its Applications (IIT Bombay) from July- October 2017.
