About
I am Dr Pallavi Vyas, working as an Assistant Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Maharashtra (India). I did my doctorate research on
microbial production of alkali tolerant xylanases and their applications in biobleaching of wood pulp from IIT-Roorkee in 2009. During this period, I was able to isolate one alkali tolerant fungus as hyper xylanase producer and developed its coculture system with another laccase producing fungus. A bioreactor was also designed for scaled-up production of mixed enzyme preparation from co-cultivation system. This has been published in international repute journals New Biotechnology, Biomass and Bioenergy and Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Elsevier). I begin my academic career as Assistant professor in Biotechnology and worked at Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur and Amity University, Mumbai. There I engaged myself in teaching ae well as research activities and taught Molecular Biology, Plant Tissue Culture, Animal Cell Culture, Industrial Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Protein Engineering courses to graduate and post graduate students. My research specialization is molecular and biochemical characterization of serine protease inhibitors, production of value added products from microbial and plant cell culture systems and micropropagation of Momordica diocca. Currently I am working upon genetic diversity analysis and barcoding of ginger as a part of a research project sectioned under RUSA scheme.
