About

Dr. Kaushal Kumar Jha is currently the Professor Department of Agricultural Extension & Head Research & Extension Cell at Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS) Medziphema Campus Nagaland. He has guided PG and PhD research projects in the fields Agricultural extension, Technology transfer, Agro-ecological studies of Himalayan region, Impact of development programmes, Entrepreneurship development, sustainability of farming systems etc and headed the career counselling & placement cell. He has experience of more than 27 years of teaching, research and technology transfer and management. He has demonstrated high degree of research expertise and consultancy for government departments as well as international agencies in the field of Agriculture, Rural Development, Social Sustainability, Community Empowerment, Knowledge Management, Technology Innovation, Local governance. He is a life member of the Indian Society of Extension Education (ISEE) as well as Society of Extension Education (SEE), Society for Community Mobilization and Sustainable Development, New Delhi and currently holding the post of Vice President of ISEE, IARI New Delhi actively contributing towards strengthening the academia and creating vibrant environment of agricultural extension professionals in India. He is also the member of International Consortium for Agricultural Systems Applications (ICASA), USA. He is the alumni of Banaras Hindu University & Rockefeller Foundation, Italy. He has organized various national level conferences, chaired as chairman and co-chairman in the plenary sessions and received awards from professional bodies like ISEE, SEE, SRDA for his outstanding contributions in the field of agricultural extension. He has successfully guided more than 35 PG and PhD research scholars. He has published more than 100 research papers in the national / international journals included in various peer reviewed journals/ NAAS rated Journals/ UGC care / Scopus indexed as well ISI impact factor journals. He has published 07 books, more than 30 book chapters, 10 practical manuals, as well as many extension leaflets and folders. He has successfully completed 06 research projects out of which 01 project was funded by ICAR, 01 project in consortium mode was funded by UGC , 01 project was funded by UNDP through MORD, 01 project was funded by DONER, 01 project was funded by Ministry of Education and 01 project was funded by Logo Link Brazil. He has participated in more than 25 seminar / conferences, has exposure visit to Asian and European countries, organized various trainings and workshops for capacity building of various stakeholders, delivered professional lectures as resource person, organized agricultural exhibitions, provided consultancy services to the state department of Agriculture and contributed in various academic bodies like Board of Post Graduate Studies, Academic Council etc. towards institution building.
