I am Dr. Remmiya Mary Varghese, an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, India. I am an orthodontist, academician, researcher, and mentor with a strong commitment to advancing contemporary orthodontic education, clinical practice, and evidence-based research.
My academic and research interests encompass clear aligner therapy, digital orthodontics, orthodontic biomaterials, fixed functional appliances, dentofacial orthopaedics, orthodontic biomechanics, and contemporary approaches to orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. My research focuses on clinically relevant questions that integrate emerging technologies, innovative orthodontic materials, and quantitative research methodologies to improve the predictability, efficiency, safety, and long-term outcomes of orthodontic treatment.
I have an active scholarly profile with multiple publications in Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed journals and have contributed to research in several emerging areas of orthodontics and dental materials. My research contributions have been recognized through multiple awards and academic distinctions, reflecting my commitment to research excellence, innovation, and scientific advancement.
I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate orthodontic education, clinical training, research mentoring, and academic development. I also serve as a PhD Guide, mentoring doctoral researchers in the development and execution of scientifically rigorous research projects. Through my academic, clinical, and research activities, I strive to promote innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based practice while contributing to the advancement of modern, patient-centred orthodontic care.
