About

Fateh V. Singh was born in Ravani Katiry, Bulandshahar, UP, India, in 1976. He completed M.Sc. in organic chemistry from S. S. V. College, Hapur, Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, India, in 1998. After that he received his Ph.D. in 2007 under the supervision of Dr. A. Goel in the field of synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry at CDRI, Lucknow, India. After that he worked as FAPESP postdoctoral fellow with Prof. H. A. Stefani, USP, Brazil, for couple of years in the area of organotrifluoroborate chemistry. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Marie Curie IIF fellowship to work with Prof. T. Wirth at Cardiff University, UK. In his research group, he worked for two years in the field of organoselenium and hypervalent iodine chemistry. For a short period, he worked as Dr D S fellow with Prof. G Mugesh at IISc Bangalore, India where he was involved in the study of antioxidant behaviours of various diaryl diselenides. In 2014, he started his independent career and joined VIT University, Chennai as an Assistant Professor. He is working in three different research areas including organoselenium reagents, hypervalent reagents and ring transformation reactions. Currently, he is having two research grants from Indian Government; one is from DST while other is from CSIR. He has already contributed in more than 50 research papers, 11 book chapters and 4 review articles and one patent.
