About
Dr. Jayaraman Rajangam is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Jayaraman is currently serving as the Principal cum Professor at Shri Venkateshwara College of Pharmacy, Puducherry.
He completed his B.Pharm in 2002 and M.Pharm in Pharmacology in 2007 from KMCH College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, and completed his Ph.D. at Karpagam Deemed to be University, Coimbatore, in 2014.
Dr. Jayaraman began his career as a Lecturer at KNV Pharmacy College, Rajkot, Gujarat, and subsequently held key positions, including Assistant Professor at KMCH College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu; Associate Professor & HOD followed by Professor & HOD at Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh; followed by Professor & HOD at Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Jayaraman has published 71 research & review articles, secured two patents, and received two research grants. As a mentor, he has guided 30 M.Pharm students, 35 B. Pharm students, 16 Pharm.D students, and one Ph.D. student. He has also completed four NPTEL, MHRD courses and actively organized several conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars, and short-term training programs (STTPs) and Delivered >20 Guest lecturers & as chairperson of conferences.He is a life member of professional bodies such as the IPS, APTI, IACP, ISCA, and ISPOR, and serves on the editorial boards and as a reviewer panels.
Dr. Jayaraman has authored several book chapters (>10) published by reputed publishers. His expertise extends to various academic committees, as a BOS Member, Pondicherry University, DRC member and external examiner for several esteemed universities, including Dr. MGR University, RGUHS, SRMC, JNTUA, JSS, AMITY, and Karpagam University. His accomplishments include receiving the Hi-Flier Award (2004), Young Achiever Award (2014), Best Oral Presentation Award (2019,2024), We are Proud of You Award (2019) and Best Researcher Award (2021) and the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Global Educator Award (2022).
Introduced the Pharm.D Course at Shri Venkateshwara College of Pharmacy, Puducherry — the first in the state, marking a historic milestone in pharmaceutical education.
